I. University Profile

Xinyang Normal University is located in Xinyang, a famous historic and cultural city in the South of Henan Province. The university was established in 1975, and through years of operating, it has been granted the rights to confer the bachelor degree and master degree in different majors. Xinyang Normal University has proved its own quality by establishing more than 20 scientific research platforms in Henan Province, participating in more than 600 national science fund programs and scientific research projects in the provincial and ministry scales since 2006. With strong partnership with both domestic universities in China and abroad universities in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea, the university gained a huge success in sending local students abroad for further studies and enrolling foreign students for studies in China.  

Xinyang Normal University provides a wide range of specialties for students, from the language programs to the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The list of specialties is illustrated in the table below.

Research of Basic Issues on Modern and Contemporary Chinese History


For the Undergraduate Program and Post Graduate Program, the Chinese language proficiency is required since most of the courses are conducted fully in Chinese. For students who are not matched with the language level or who want to improve their Chinese proficiency, the university also offers Chinese language program for short – term ( 6-month program) and long – term (12-month program). 

1. DURATION OF STUDY
  • Postgraduate Program lasts 2 – 3 years 
  • Undergraduate Program lasts 4 years 
  • Chinese Language Program lasts 6 – 12 months depending on the term of the studies 
  • The autumn semester starts in the late of August or in the early of September, and ends in the middle or late of January next year 
  • The spring semester is varied depending on the spring festival in Chinese lunar calendar. Usually, it starts in the late of February or in the early of March, and ends in the middle of July in the same year. 


2. TUITION FEE AND SCHOLARSHIP 


The tuition fee is varied depending on the program and degree of studies. 
                         
Notice:

All the admitted students are encouraged for government scholarship for foreign students in Henan Province and scholarship for foreign students of Xinyang Normal University. Currently, there is one scholarship offered by Xinyang Normal University, with full – covered tuition fee, accommodation fee, medical insurance and 500 RMB stipend/month.

  • Admission Application Form of Xinyang Normal University for International Students 
  • Ordinary Passport 
  • Education Level Certificate (Copy)
  • Academic transcripts for corresponding education level 
  • HSK Level Certificate (copy, it is exempt in case of not available) 
  • Overseas Personal Physical Examination Form 
  • Non-Criminal Record
