The One Belt, One Road initiative and its Opportunities in Education
The One Belt One Road project is an ambitious and global project launched by China in 2013 with the aim of improving its influence on the world.
The project consists of building a trading infrastructure based on two routes: one from China through central Asia to Middle East Europe by train and one linking China through Southeast Asia to east Africa by sea which would facilitate the development of mutual commercial, diplomatic and cultural opportunities.
According to this context and to promote the mutual understanding and friendship between China and other countries, the Chinese government developed programs such as “The Scholarship for Youth of Excellence Scheme of China” with the aim of providing education opportunities to the youths worldwide who enjoy good potentials in their career development.
You can apply to these various scholarships by directly contacting the universities concerned or via agencies who have been providing a reliable and helpful service thanks to their English speaking abilities and their different established partnerships with Chinese universities
Other opportunities are also present within the field of university co-operation with the creation of different networks in the educational sector.
One recent example is the establishment of the Belt and Road Architectural University Consortium who will held its launch forum in Beijing during October 2017, hosted by the Beijing University of Civil Engineering & Architecture who finances the participation of many foreign universities
These kind of cooperation platform aim to enhance communication among member universities and mutual activities such as research, project application and innovation as well as encouraging the mobility and exchanges of academic staff and student
B&R policy brings more scholarship chances to foreigners who want to study in China but struggling with limited budget.
